As we bid farewell to another year, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on all the Barristers have accomplished and what we are looking forward to in 2018. Our Section continued to do great work this year under the leadership of our immediate past President, Yan Goldshteyn, who made sure our projects remained relevant and that the Barristers continued our tradition of community service.
Specifically, we carried out another year of our monthly legal clinics at Roxbury Park, feeding the homeless at Santa Monica Homeless Shelter, diverting minors from the juvenile justice system and staffing the legal clinic at the LA Law Library’s annual Lawyers in the Library event.
We kept our social presence strong with our monthly networking happy hour and other events throughout the year. We also put on a very successful and well attended New Admittees Reception to welcome our newest Barristers and encourage them to join up with the BHBA. We welcomed new Board members who have shown their dedication and excitement for all that we do.
I look forward to redoubling our efforts with our existing programs as well as setting and reaching new goals for the Barristers in 2018. May we all have a joyful holiday season filled with peace and love and a very happy and healthy New Year.
