The Barristers returned to the Santa Monica Homeless Shelter to dish out some delicious Italian food!
November at SaMoShel was another great success with fresh food and faces!
Barristers prepare and serve food to as many as 60 of the city's under-privileged on the second Saturday of every month. Santa Monica Shelter is located at 505 Olympic Blvd. For questions or more information, you can e-mail Jeanine Percival-Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or Anton Labrentz at email@example.com, or feel free to leave a comment below.
Hope to see you next month!
It was a great year for last year's Board, and such a fun meeting tonight! Next meeting Oct. 9.
And a big CONGRATULATIONS to Barristers member Roshni Gandhi, for being honored with the Barristers' Lawrence J. Blake Award! It will be presented to her officially at the BHBA Installation Dinner on Oct. 1.
We were a bit short staffed at SaMoShel this month, but we still had a lot of fun!
It was a tough fight, but BHBA lost to SMBA by only one point, scored in the last inning! But we had a blast anyway, and everyone enjoyed our BBQ.

Last week, several Barristers members met for a bike ride in the South Bay. Thirteen and and a half miles later we were back at Good Stuff Restaurant, hungry for a terrific brunch. Thanks to Brian Smith for organizing, and can't wait for the next program in July!
This weekend's trip Samoshel was another success, with the Barristers cooking up a bunch of yummy BBQ burgers that everyone loved. Next month sushi?
Remember, BHBA Barristers head to Samoshel Homeless Shelter in Santa Monica the 2nd Saturday of every month to help prepare food and serve a meal to about 60 of the City's homeless. The next trip will be on May 11, 3-5pm. Join us for a fun, easy and very rewarding experience you won't forget!
The Beverly Hills Bar Association Barristers proudly hosted their popular New Admittees Reception on March 14, 2013, garnering over 150 attendees.
Bar Leaders and Barristers of the BHBA warmly welcomed those newly admitted to the profession at the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s offices in the Rolex Building on Wilshire Boulevard.
The Honorable Judge John Segal addressed the attendees about the importance of community involvement and building lasting relationships in the legal profession, reinforcing some of the core values of the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
Bar Officers, Board of Governors Members and other Bar Leaders and Bar Staff were all present to welcome the New Admittees.
Guests mingled and networked with fellow constituents as they snacked on delicious hors d'oeuvres at the reception.
The Barristers would like to thank all those who attended as well as Lexis-Nexis, our generous sponsor, who contributed to the success of our event.
If you missed the New Admittees Reception, or even if you attended, but would like to learn more about what the Bar Association can do for you, please join us for our upcoming “Bar Camp.” More information can be found on our website at www.bhba.org.

In a collaborative effort, the BHBA and Public Counsel were pleased to have offered this unique opportunity to hear prominent entertainment legal insiders offering their candid perspectives on drafting and litigating entertainment contracts. As part of this event, attendees were offered the chance to sign up for a meaningful and discrete pro bono matter that allow them to put into practice some of the important pointers given in the presentation. Those who signed up for the pro bono experience received their MCLE credit for free. Another similar opportunity will be offered soon!
