Wineries & Beverages

Dassai sake is created using a careful combination of tradition and cutting edge technology. Our brewery is a medley of ancient tools and innovative equipment. We have come to use what works, and leave what does not, choosing what our experience dictates is best from both the old world and the new.

The Astrale e Terra vineyards are located on the pioneering edge of Napa Valley viticulture and are the central premise behind our wines and our mission. Sitting 1,250 feet above the valley on Atlas Peak, our 68-acre estate holds 30 planted acres among its rolling hills, steep hillsides and mountain valleys. Our vineyard, and the entire Atlas Peak American Viticultural Area (AVA), provides us with growing conditions unique to Northern California. The wines we produce from these vineyards cannot escape being distinctive reflections of their natural influences. We could ask for nothing more.

Beekeeper Cellars was created as part of my life study of fine wine, my study as a Student in the Master of Wine program and as a collaboration with one of my great friends and top winemaking professionals Clay Mauritson. The goals are many, but when friends try Beekeeper, I want to reset what people think about Zinfandel. I want to improve the Zinfandel marketplace and be part of the future for this world class grape varietal… the rest of my goals will come forward in our email correspondence and evolve as we evolve as a wine brand and grow in the coming years.

Grassini Family Winery is as singular as the wines crafted inside. Borrowed and adapted from 17th century Southern European approaches, the winery itself is embedded in a prominent hillside with the rear opening into spectacular wine caves. (The Romans stored their wine in catacombs, while the French used abandoned creyeres from which limestone had been excavated.) The caves ensure humidity and temperature control, while using a fraction of hydrocarbon or electrical energy sources. All the wood in the winery is reclaimed antique fir, having been milled from timbers discovered recently in the Oregon River. The timbers were used in the late 1800s to move materials downriver. The entire winery and vineyard is solar powered and the water used for irrigation is from the estate’s well-fed lake. And we gently transfer the wine to bottle, using only gravity. Nature’s perfect engine of gravity is put to work in all of our winery operations. With a constant eye towards sustainability, both history and the future will be served.

The vineyards of the historic Lewelling Estate were established in 1864 near the western foothills in St. Helena by our great-great-grandfather, pioneer winegrower John Lewelling. Here, the gravelly loam soil and microclimate combine to produce exceptional Cabernets with rich cherry, currant and berry flavors that are enhanced by traditional winemaking methods and aging in French and American oak barrels. Our family is proud to present this wine that celebrates 144 years as one of the oldest continuously-owned family vineyards in the Napa Valley.

Tucked into the eastern hills of the Oakville appellation, squarely within the heart of Napa Valley, Miner Family Winery is the culmination of the story and the vision of owners Dave and Emily Miner. The Miners continue to create authentic, elegant and complex wines from a handful of high quality vineyards in Napa Valley and beyond.

It began almost 30 years ago . . . a love affair with the wines produced from the Bordeaux region of France. Particularly, wines from the small, family owned Chateaus that dot the rolling hillsides of the beautiful ‘Right Bank’ countryside. It is from here, that my inspiration came. Our goal at PALAZZO is to make wines of outstanding quality, depth, balance and structure. . . that exhibit both ‘power and elegance’ on the palate. . . and that pair well with a broad range of foods. That will always be the standard! It is my hope, that my wine will bring laughter and enjoyment to people’s lives . . . and zest and harmony to everyone’s dining tables!

Andrew and Laurel Quady left crowded southern California and their jobs in pyrotechnics and merchandising to pursue their dream: a non-urban way of life making wine. Returning to school, Andrew graduated with a Masters in Food Science-Enology from UC Davis and Laurel became a licensed CPA. In 1975, at the urging of friend Darrell Corti, they made their first port from Amador County Zinfandel at the now defunct Lodi Vintners where Andrew was working as an assistant winemaker. In 1977, settled in Madera in California’s Central Valley with Andrew working at Heublein, they built a small winery behind their country home and made port on evenings and weekends.

Located at the gateway to Santa Barbara Wine Country, the Santa Maria Valley is the northern most AVA of Santa Barbara County. We understand and celebrate the importance of terroir as a sense of place. Our unique soil and the maritime influence in this region, which is gaining renown for its cool climate and ideal growing conditions, are perfect for producing coveted Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, Syrahs, and other varietals of great merit.

Spring Mountain Vineyard is an 850 acre estate of forest and vineyard on the eastern slopes of Spring Mountain which rises behind the town of Saint Helena. The vineyard occupies about 226 acres of the estate and is broken into 135 small and separate hillside vineyard blocks. Each small block and slope has a unique soil, exposure to the sun, and microclimate.  Each vineyard block produces a unique wine, giving the winemaker a wealth of choices.

Whetstone Wine Cellars is a small, family-owned, luxury brand located in the heart of Napa Valley. At 1075 Atlas Peak Road we are a few minutes from downtown Napa, a mile east of the Silverado Trail, and just south of the Silverado Country Club. The quality of our wines coupled with the gorgeous Chateau setting, relaxed atmosphere, and personal touch make for a very unique Napa Valley experience. Whether it’s a tasting, corporate dinner, or wedding let us know what we can do for you.

Wicker Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from our vineyard located on the western slopes of Howell Mountain overlooking Napa Valley.  Aged 18 to 20 months in French oak, we are holding these incredible wines for release until they start to open up in the bottle.  The WOW! exclamation when tasting our late released Cabernet for the first time is a testament to the vineyard, the winemaking skills of Dennis Johns, and to the extended time in bottle.  These complex and silky textured Cabernets will delight your senses with the fullness of ripe black fruit flavors and a potpourri of aromas from tea leaves, sweet clove, orange peel, mint, cocoa and leather.  The long sweet finish will leave you longing for another sip.

Wind Gap is not about making the “perfect wine” it’s about making honest, authentic and compelling wine from special vineyard sites. What interests us about wine is what makes it different – the subtle nuances and characteristics that tell a particular wine’s story, regardless of appellation.

VOSS isn’t your everyday water. It’s pure artesian water from Norway that’s bottled at its source. Though Norway is a small country, its pristine environment produces some of the best spring and artesian water sources on Earth. The VOSS source is in Southern Norway, and is naturally filtered, protecting VOSS from pollutants. The water is generated in an artesian aquifer, below ground. When tapped into, the aquifer is pressurized enough to allow the water to rise up naturally towards the surface.
